Search Warrant Quashed, Charges Dismissed

Jennifer Penman was counsel at Superior Court in Toronto in a case that involved police seizure of a very large amount of various narcotics and seizure of a number of highly illegal firearms including a loaded handgun and an assault rifle. Ms. Penman challenged the search warrants for two apartments said to be linked to the accused in the case. After three weeks of motions the Trial Judge found that the searches were unconstitutional and excluded all of the evidence obtained as a result of the searches. The client was facing many many years in custody and will now be released.
