Tiffany Phan

Tiffany is an associate at Derstine Bariteau, where her practice focuses on criminal litigation at the trial level. She represents clients facing all kinds of criminal charges in and around the GTA.

Prior to receiving her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, Tiffany received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from York University (Human Rights and Equity Studies specialization) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta (Immunology specialization).

During her academic career, Tiffany found herself increasingly engaged with social justice causes. One example is through her York University research assistantship studying the racially discriminatory history of anti-narcotics legislation in Canada, which was funded by the Dean’s Award for Research Excellence. She also volunteered with Amnesty International (York University Chapter), Pro Bono Students Canada (Osgoode Hall Chapter), and Cannabis Amnesty.

This interest in social justice gradually solidified into a desire to pursue criminal law. It was during her second year of law school that Tiffany first came to Derstine Bariteau as a Criminal Law Intensive Program Student. Tiffany would then return as a Summer Student, once more as an Articling Student, and then as an Associate.

With attentiveness and professionalism, Tiffany is committed to assisting individuals who find themselves at odds with the criminal justice system.
